 BRIAN P. VICK started his tenure as Manager on December 22, 2008.  Brian came to the City from the City of DeWitt where he was City Administrator for two and a half years. Prior to that, he was Assistant City Manager in the City of Grosse Pointe for ten years. Brian and his wife, Jennifer, have two children.  His hobbies include platform tennis and golf.

The City of Grosse Pointe Shores operates under a basic "Manager Plan", with the City Manager overseeing the day-to-day operation of the community. The affairs of the City are governed by an elected Council composed of a Mayor, and six Council Members.   The City Clerk and City Treasurer are appointed by the Council.
