The Village of Grosse Pointe Shores Fire Division is overseen by Deputy Fire Chief Ron Coste. Deputy Coste was sworn on as a public safety officer in 2000. Prior to Grosse Pointe Shores Deputy Chief Coste worked as a Fire Fighter for the Tri-City Fire Department and a paramedic for American Medical Response Ambulance company. Deputy Coste responsibilities include the departments training agenda, apparatus and equipment maintenance along with research and development of new fire equipment to purchase.

 The Village of Grosse Pointe Shores has two fire apparatus. The first, Attack 4 is a 2022 HME Mini Pumper on a Super Duty 550 Ford Chassie. Attack 4 is designed to pump water and with a 350-gallon water tank, Attack 4 will pump 1,500 gallons per minute. The second piece of apparatus is a 1996 Emergency One Pumper. Engine 4 has a 500-gallon water tank that flows 1,500 gallons of water per minute as well. Additional equipment stored on Engine 4 and Attack 4 are ladders, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and the Hurst Tool (Jaws), Fire Blanket (EV Fires), and Forcible Entry Tools. The Village of Grosse Pointe Shores has Mutual Aid Agreements with the 4 Grosse Pointe municipalities and the City of Harper Woods to receive and render assistance during confirmed working fires.
